According to the queen of all things small business, Holly Tucker, more than half of UK small businesses fear they will have to close due to the energy crisis.
As a small business this is not the news I want to hear.....we didn't bring our businesses through a two year pandemic to then have our energy bills be the thing that causes our closure.
So on that note I wanted to use my little corner of the internet to share 9 small UK businesses that I know and love.
Does your card supply need a wee top up?....a birthday on the horizon.....feeling you deserve a little treat.....or even thinking ahead for Christmas, whatever the reason these small businesses cover all the bases!

A treasure chest of beautifulness based down a hidden lane in South Queensferry.
Tori has worked so hard to curate a beautiful range of homeware and gifts, all sourced from Scotland and throughout the rest of the UK.
And if you can't visit Harbour Lane in person then the website is just as beautiful.
A mini department store based in the heart of Perth.
Cookware, books, candles, skincare, toys, gifts and much, much more...even better it's also all online!
I can say with confidence you'd easily be able to find something for everyone in this shop.
3. Leith & Gray
Thoughtfully curated gift boxes delivered straight to your door.
You can pick from pre-made boxes or create your own perfect gift.
Babies, children, gifts for him, gifts for her, engagement, thank you....there's literally a box for every occasion.
The ladies at Leith & Gray have made gifting so easy!
4. Fetcha
Eco -friendly, organic, vegan chocolates made in Scotland....and if I'm not mistaken, Fiona has the largest range of handmade vegan chocolates in the whole of the UK.
You'll find the Fetcha store in Campbeltown, or if that is a bit too far away then you can order online.
5. Kintyre Gin
Award winning gin produced in a family run distillery in Kintyre. If you can, visit the distillery for a tour followed by a delicious lunch in their café, where much of what's on the menu is grown in their own kitchen garden.
If you can't make a visit then you'll find their full range of gin online.
6. Ivy & Gold
One of these bracelets would make such a thoughtful gift, personalised with any name, word or initial of your choice.
The business was started by mum Erinn during lockdown while she was on maternity leave. She made a bracelet for herself with her daughter's name on it, a few requests followed from friends and from there the business grew to where it is today.
7. Nordi Babi
If you've got little kiddies to buy for then definitely give this website a browse! So many beautiful wooden toys and gifts from a small business.
The most lush candles and body products from this family run business. Capturing the spirit of the highlands of Scotland in every product.
Anything from this lovely business would make the perfect gift.
9. Stocky & Dee
And for your beloved dogs, this small business was recommended by my sister who has treated her new puppy, Rab, to a few goodies from here. Everything is made to order using UK sourced materials.
